Climate Science Day on Capitol Hill

March 1, 2011
Printer-friendly version

On February 16-17, Harvard Forest Outreach Manager Clarisse Hart was one of four scientists supported by NEON (the National Clarisse in DCEcological Observatory Network) to participate in a series of climate science meetings with senators and representatives on Capitol Hill. The experience, a joint effort by a dozen national scientific associations, included a training workshop and individual meetings with legislators' offices. The day's purpose was to broaden the accessibility of climate scientists to decision-makers and to share information about regional and local climate change research. Clarisse met with Senator Scott Brown (R-MA) and six other senators and representatives from NY, NH, and MD.
