On November 3, the Harvard Forest and the Petersham Historical Society co-hosted a public open house for a farm property that Harvard Forest acquired in 2008. Visitors were able to tour the renovated Bryant farmhouse, get a closer look at the 1760s-era barn, meet contemporary members of the Bryant family, and learn about Harvard Forest's effort clearing the old pastures for small-scale farming and livestock. Horse-drawn wagon rides led by the head of the Harvard Forest Woods Crew carried visitors to further explore the property with local historians.
