The Harvard Forest Document Archives houses a large collection of visual media related to Harvard Forest research, people, properties and local area. This collection includes:
- Historical photographs (photographs and negatives from the late 1800s into late 1900s, primarily taken by Harvard Forest staff and researchers)
- Modern photographs (photographs from the late 1900s on, primarily taken by Harvard Forest staff and researchers)
- Aerial photographs (Harvard Forest-related aerial photographs. Some were taken or commissioned by Harvard Forest staff, but most were purchased from public or commercial vendors.)
- Scrapbooks and photo albums
- Glass lantern slides
- 35 mm slides
- Movie reels/DVDs
Digital Image Catalog
Some of Harvard Forest’s vast collections of photographs and negatives have been digitized and can be found in an online catalog of digital images.
