Summer Equipment and Supplies Suggestions
Students should bring what will make for a comfortable and enjoyable summer. The top two items which are almost universally desired are insect repellant and a fan.
Field Clothes
- Long sleeve shirts (ideally light colored)
- Long field pants (ideally light colored, not cotton/jeans)
- Fleece/sweater
- Convertible pants/shorts
- Hat for sun/rain
- Hiking socks/liner socks
- Waterproof hiking boots
- Rain gear

Lab Clothes
- Long pants (jeans are fine)
- Close toed shoes
Field Gear
- Insect repellant (with deet)
- Water bottle/reservoir
- Sunscreen (high spf)
- Swiss army/leatherman/knife
- Sunglasses
- Lighter/waterproof matches
- Flashlight/headlamp
- First aid kit-basic
- Day pack to carry lunch, water, clothes, etc.
