  • Abstract:

The Barn Tower (40 m) was installed in 2009 to support meteorological and phenological measurements and to provide a relay point for the Harvard Forest field wireless network. A wind instrument was later installed at the top of the tower to provide continuous measurements of wind speed and direction.

  • Methods:

The wind instrument is an R.M. Young 05103 wind monitor. The instrument is scanned once per second and 15-minute values are calculated and stored by a datalogger. Date-time values indicate the end of each measurement period. All times are Eastern Standard Time. Missing values are indicated by NA. The original instrument was replaced on 6 May 2021.
