Regional Studies

Quabbin Resevoir to NE Cape and Islands

Harvard Forest scientists conduct a wide range of regional investigations utilizing diverse approaches from paleoecology, historical ecology, extensive field sampling, remote sensing and modeling. These studies provide invaluable context for intensive site-based research, they allow our researchers to investigate processes that operate at broad scales or outside the boundaries of the Forest's 3500 acres, and they enable us to evaluate the generality of results emerging from our intensive local observations and experiments.
