Recreation at Harvard ForestTrails: Harvard Forest contains miles of trails. A map or roads and trails on the prospect hill tract, the area closest to parking, is available. Two self-guided nature trails start at the Fisher Museum and wind for .5 and 1.5 miles through the Forest. Hiking, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, and horseback riding are allowed on the trails. Motorized recreation is prohibited. Camping and fires are prohibited. Dogs are allowed on Harvard Forest, but must be under strict control at all times. Parking is available in front of the Fisher Museum for the Prospect Hill tract and just off Route 122 at the east and west edges of Harvard Pond for the Tom Swamp tract. Hunting is allowed on Harvard Forest except for posted areas where intensive research is being conducted.
