Juvenile tree responses to soil warming at Harvard Forest

Abstract:
This is a continuing study, initiated in 2003, to determine growth, survivorship, and phenological responses of temperate trees to soil warming. From 2003 through 2008, we determined that shade-tolerant, normally slow-growing species benefitted most from warming. We are continuing to study species-species responses to investigate the duration of and mechanisms behind species- and funtional group responses to climate warming.:
