Suppression of native plants by invasive plant chemistry

Principal Investigator: Kristina Stinson
Harvard Forest: Jan 01 2008 - Dec 31 2012:

Abstract:
We are conducting research with 2 invasive species - garlic mustard (A. petiolata) and Buckthorn (R. frangula)- to investigate the mycorrhizal-mediated suppression of native plant growth via allelopathic interference. 2008 studies will experimentally manipulate soils to determine the biochemical nature and community-level effects invasive plants on native plant growth and mycorrhizal fungi. :
